Mission Statement

At Tampabay Cat Alliance, our mission is to seek and ensure safe, humane, and healthy environments for all cats that we come in contact with. We also encourage and educate the areas communities on the spaying/neutering, vaccinating, and proper care of our feline population. We also assist in providing such care for as many cats as we are able.

We have many kittens needing homes! All colors.

Please e-mail us and tell us what you're looking for.

We are happy to work with people that need to re-home their cats. We will promote and work hard to find a wonderful home for your cat.  We required that your cat be spayed/neutered, or arrangements are made to have this done. We can provide you with information on low cost programs. People adopting kittens under 5 pounds will be responsible for having them spayed/neutered, and will need to show us proof that they have been fixed. All cats will need to be updated with their shots. A combo test will be required as well for cats being adopted into families with other cats. We appreciate your cooperation.

All local shelters are full, and no-kill shelters turn over cats to animal services. All animals are being euthanized, with no hold time. If an owner/caretaker surrenders a cat to animal services, it will be euthanized.

We will work with families to find great, loving homes for your cats and kittens. Please give us as much notice as you can.  We cannot place a cat in a few days.

As a volunteer-based charity, we have a few key volunteers and fosters that house and feed our cats, and make sure they get their necessary medical treatment.

Why Tampabay Cat Alliance?

Alison Buckley (center) has been working with cats and dogs for 30 years, helping outdoor strays and working on animal rights issues.  She is always there to help any animal in need, but is especially fond of cats.

In 2009, due to the economic downturn, Alison lost her home. She started the painful process of placing all of her rescued cats in new homes.  It was a full time job for over a year, posting ads and visiting veterinarian offices in four counties.  She was the lone cat lady at many dog adoption events.  She refused to send her cats to a shelter.

In the process, she reached out to others in the same situation, to help them find new homes for their pets.  It was in the midst of this desperation that she met so many wonderful people and decided this was the direction her life was meant to take. In Dec. 2010, she founded the Tampabay Cat Alliance Inc., and by July 2011 had obtained non-profit 501(c)3 status.

As President of the Tampabay Cat Alliance, Inc., she set strict adoption policies, screening applicants carefully to match them with the right cat, and personally delivering the cat to its new home to assure it is a safe haven.  The result is a high success rate with only a few cats returned over 2 years and almost 200 adoptions.  Anyone that needs to re-home an adopted cat, for any reason, is assured that their cat will never be taken to a shelter or animal services, and will NEVER be euthanized.  She and her volunteer staff work hard for the cats and their owners.

Today she relies on foster homes for these cats. Her goal is to establish her own facility to house and care for them.

Caring for Feral Cats

The Tampabay Cat Alliance feeds and neuters feral cats and kittens in an effort to control the population.
